English: The entrance used to be at another side than nowadays, i.e. to the north. At it there is an inscription, the content of which I do not know, it may be the one by the Karaman ruler Ibrahim II, if so, it's from 1450 (see Wikipedia). The castle is, on a map that is in this series (Anamur Castle Information 8563), described as containing an "outer castle" (where there is a mosque and a row of shops) to the north of a wall separating that area from an "inner courtyard" by a wall, a main tower to the latter's southeastern corner, and a "inner castle" to the west of the inner courtyard. On the north side there is a water-filled moat, formerly the entrance to the castle was on that side too. On the south side the sea provides protection. To locate where a picture was taken the gps-information from my camera was generally correct, in a few cases reflections from the walls caused some drift.
