AçıklamaPoljud stadium with its architect Boris Magas and Mero roof structure.jpg
English: The Poljud stadium in Split was designed in 1976 by architect Boris Magas. The construction was completed in 1979 for the opening of the Mediterranean Games. The stadium featured a range of innovations, including a first-ever spherical construction and a 206 metre curved roof span which was the largest of its kind at the time of construction. The architect's calculation of the supporting structure was verified by one of the early construction industry's computing centres at Mero in Germany, the company which supplied the Mero system for the stadium's roof structure. In 2019 the stadium featured at the Concrete Utopia exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A model of Poljud stadium was commissioned especially for the exhibition at MoMA and built by the Cooper Union students of the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture. Photograph by Michela Magas.
