Karbonhidrat sülfotransferaz 1, insanlarda 11. kromozomun kısa kolunda bulunan CHST1 geni tarafından kodlanan bir proteindir.[4] Proteinin polipeptit zincirinin uzunluğu 411 amino asittir ve molekül ağırlığı 46715'tir.[5]
Proteinin kodlandığı gen, işlev bakımından transferazlara aittir. Enflamatuvar yanıt, karbonhidrat metabolizması gibi biyolojik süreçlerde etkinlik gösterir. Protein, golgi aygıtının zarında yerleşir.
